I really love books.

My reading app tells me that I read over 120 of them in 2021, which was quite an accomplishment for me.

After I lost my Dad at the end of 2020, I had a hard time feeling interested in anything that used to bring me joy, so I decided to set a reading goal for myself for the year (100 books). I have always loved to read but had not been making as much time for it in recent years and I wanted to get back to it. I am so glad I set that goal and saw it through because it has rekindled my love for reading and I enjoyed so many wonderful and insightful books this past year!

I want to share more of the books I love with others, so one of the new categories of articles on my blog is “books.” (If you click on the menu from the Floranella home page, then click on articles, then books, you can see the category.)

In my first post of the year (first blog post since Dad entered the hospital, actually), I have shared my favorite 5-star reads from 2021. One of them is my favorite book of all time: Pride and Prejudice. (Don’t worry. I shared plant-related books too!) I reread it this year and found it more hilarious and lovable than ever. I ended up giving copies of it to the women in my family for Christmas and my own Christmas gift from Jon was a beautiful edition of it that I would not have felt comfortable purchasing for myself but cherish as my favorite gift from him.

Have you ever read it? (Or any of the other books I shared in that post?) What is your favorite book of all time? I would love to hear. 😊
