Book Review: The Games Gods Play by Abigail Owen
Rating: 4.5 stars of 5, rounded up to 5 on Goodreads
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It’s the first book I’ve read that features the Greek gods as characters and I found myself wanting to read others after I finished it (I’m totally open to recommendations if you’ve read any that you liked). I’m looking forward to future installments in the series.
The short chapters and gripping story line kept this feeling super readable even though it’s a longer book, and the special edition with the stenciled edges is absolutely gorgeous. The story moves along well, and I felt like the characters were well developed. There were some editing errors that kept it from being a 5-star read for me, but the reading experience was great. I even got teary during a couple of the scenes!
“Seems to me that love can calm storms, end wars, make fools of smart people, and bridge the gap between life and death. Doesn’t that make it the most powerful?”
